AWESOME!

I'm glad. Yeah, that's a crowd pleaser. I went to VA with my then girlfriend this summer, way out in the middle of noplace. Leading up to the trip she said:

"Well, we're going to throw my parents a 35th anniversary surprise party the day we get there. Would you bake?"

To which I responded:

"I'm happy to, but understand that you're asking me to meet your mom, a Southern Cook then almost immediately going in and taking over HER kitchen. If you think you can make that fly, then definitely."

I made a batch of focaccia and upstaged the meal for 35 or so people.

Yeah, it works ;-)

Damn glad it worked for you.

Your bread was a huge hit! I hid a couple pieces for lunch tomorrow, because I'm not sure the rest will last until then.

Man, that's awesome.

Nothing off topic about it.

Oh man I hope it comes out.

It is a pretty wet dough. Tough to tell, not knowing what you're used to. So I wouldn't worry about that. As long as you've got a visible burst rise in the first 10 minutes in the oven, there's very little that can screw it up ;-)

I'm, as my buddy Suw used to say, chuffed as a small horse.

The other evening my neighbor and I were talking about fall and I mentioned it's been homemade soup weather. He mentioned that his wife has been wanting to make soup, but didn't have any good recipes. I'm putting together my best and will give them to them probably tomorrow.

Off topic - kinda - I've got a pan of your foccacia in the oven. Is the dough supposed to be very moist and sticky? It wasn't anything like regular bread dough that I'm used to. Smells gooooooood though.

I played my guitar and sang with a pick-up group of musicians at the local Farmers' Market. Little children danced and played the little tambourines and shakers that are provided for them. Folks threw money in the guitar case because they were happy. I left before the money split.
